वन्दे वन्दारु मन्दारमिन्दिरानन्दकन्दलम् । अमन्दानन्दसन्दोह बन्धुरं सिन्धुराननम् ॥
Vande vandaru mandaramindiranandakandalam | Amandanandasandoha bandhuram sindhurananam ||
Meaning:I bow to the elephant-faced Lord (Ganesha), who is like the wish-granting mandara tree for those who bow to him, a fresh sprout of Indira's (Lakshmi's) joy, and lovely with abundant bliss.
अर्थ:मैं गजमुख भगवान (गणेश) को प्रणाम करता हूँ, जो प्रणाम करने वालों के लिए कल्पवृक्ष मंदार के समान हैं, लक्ष्मी जी के आनंद के अंकुर हैं और अपार आनंद से सुंदर हैं।
अङ्गं हरेः पुलकभूषणमाश्रयन्ती भृङ्गाङ्गनेव मुकुलाभरणं तमालम् । अङ्गीकृताखिलविभूतिरपाङ्गलीला माङ्गल्यदास्तु मम मङ्गलदेवतायाः ॥ १ ॥
Angam hareh pulakabhushanamashrayanti Bhringanganeva mukulabharanam tamalam | Angikritakhilavibhutirapangalila Mangalyadastu mama mangaladevatayah || 1 ||
Meaning:As a bee rests on a tamala tree covered in buds, the playful sidelong glance of the goddess of auspiciousness rests on the body of Hari, which thrills with joy. May that glance, which holds all splendour, bring auspiciousness to me.
अर्थ:जैसे भौंरी कलियों से सजे तमाल वृक्ष पर आश्रय लेती है, वैसे ही मंगलदेवता लक्ष्मी की लीला भरी तिरछी दृष्टि आनंद से पुलकित हरि के अंग पर टिकी है। सारी विभूतियों वाली वह दृष्टि मेरा मंगल करे।
मुग्धा मुहुर्विदधती वदने मुरारेः प्रेमत्रपाप्रणिहितानि गतागतानि । माला दृशोर्मधुकरीव महोत्पले या सा मे श्रियं दिशतु सागरसम्भवायाः ॥ २ ॥
Mugdha muhurvidadhati vadane murareh Prematrapapranihitani gatagatani | Mala drishormadhukariva mahotpale ya Sa me shriyam dishatu sagarasambhavayah || 2 ||
Meaning:Like a bee that keeps returning to a great blue lotus, the charming garland of glances of the ocean-born goddess goes again and again to Murari's face, drawn by love and held back by shyness. May it grant me prosperity (shri).
अर्थ:जैसे भौंरी बड़े नीलकमल पर बार-बार आती-जाती है, वैसे ही समुद्र से प्रकट लक्ष्मी की मनोहर दृष्टिमाला प्रेम और लज्जा के कारण मुरारी के मुख पर बार-बार जाती और लौटती है। वह मुझे श्री (समृद्धि) प्रदान करे।
विश्वामरेन्द्रपदविभ्रमदानदक्षं आनन्दहेतुरधिकं मुरविद्विषोऽपि । ईषन्निषीदतु मयि क्षणमीक्षणार्धम् इन्दीवरोदरसहोदरमिन्दिरायाः ॥ ३ ॥
Vishvamarendrapadavibhramadanadaksham Anandaheturadhikam muravidvishopi | Ishannishidatu mayi kshanamikshanardham Indivarodarasahodaramindirayah || 3 ||
Meaning:Indira's (Lakshmi's) half-glance can bestow the splendour of Indra's throne, gives even greater joy to Vishnu, the enemy of Mura, and is like the inside of a blue lotus. May it rest on me, gently, even for a moment.
अर्थ:लक्ष्मी जी की वह आधी दृष्टि, जो देवराज इंद्र का वैभव देने में समर्थ है, मुर के शत्रु विष्णु को भी अधिक आनंद देती है और नीलकमल के भीतरी भाग जैसी है, क्षण भर के लिए थोड़ी सी मुझ पर ठहरे।
आमीलिताक्षमधिगम्य मुदा मुकुन्दम् आनन्दकन्दमनिमेषमनङ्गतन्त्रम् । आकेकरस्थितकनीनिकपक्ष्मनेत्रं भूत्यै भवेन्मम भुजङ्गशयाङ्गनायाः ॥ ४ ॥
Amilitakshamadhigamya muda Mukundam Anandakandamanimeshamanangatantram | Akekarasthitakaninikapakshmanetram Bhutyai bhavenmama bhujangashayanganayah || 4 ||
Meaning:The eyes of the consort of Vishnu, who rests on the serpent, gaze without blinking and with joy at Mukunda, the root of bliss, whose own eyes are half-closed in love; her pupils and lashes are set in a sidelong look. May those eyes bring me wellbeing.
अर्थ:शेषनाग पर शयन करने वाले विष्णु की पत्नी के नेत्र, जो आनंद के मूल और प्रेम में अधमुँदी आँखों वाले मुकुंद को प्रसन्नता से अपलक निहारते हैं और जिनकी पुतलियाँ व पलकें तिरछी हैं, मेरे कल्याण का कारण बनें।
बाह्वन्तरे मधुजितः श्रितकौस्तुभे या हारावलीव हरिनीलमयी विभाति । कामप्रदा भगवतोऽपि कटाक्षमाला कल्याणमावहतु मे कमलालयायाः ॥ ५ ॥
Bahvantare madhujitah shritakaustubhe ya Haravaliva harinilamayi vibhati | Kamaprada bhagavatopi katakshamala Kalyanamavahatu me kamalalayayah || 5 ||
Meaning:On the chest of Madhujit (Vishnu, conqueror of the demon Madhu), where the Kaustubha gem rests, the garland of glances of the lotus-dwelling goddess shines like a necklace of sapphires and fulfils the wishes even of the Lord. May it bring me what is good.
अर्थ:मधु दैत्य को जीतने वाले विष्णु के वक्षस्थल पर, जहाँ कौस्तुभ मणि है, कमल में रहने वाली लक्ष्मी की कटाक्ष माला नीलम के हार जैसी शोभती है और भगवान की भी इच्छा पूरी करती है। वह मेरा कल्याण करे।
कालाम्बुदालिललितोरसि कैटभारेः धाराधरे स्फुरति या तडिदङ्गनेव । मातुस्समस्तजगतां महनीयमूर्तिः भद्राणि मे दिशतु भार्गवनन्दनायाः ॥ ६ ॥
Kalambudalilalitorasi kaitabhareh Dharadhare sphurati ya tadidanganeva | Matussamastajagatam mahaniyamurtih Bhadrani me dishatu bhargavanandanayah || 6 ||
Meaning:She flashes like lightning on the chest of Kaitabha's enemy (Vishnu), which is dark and lovely like a line of rain clouds. May she, the revered form of the mother of all worlds and the daughter of the sage Bhrigu, grant me blessings.
अर्थ:जो कैटभ के शत्रु विष्णु के, काले बादलों की पंक्ति जैसे सुंदर वक्षस्थल पर बिजली की तरह चमकती हैं, वे सारे जगत की माता, पूजनीय स्वरूप वाली भृगुनंदिनी लक्ष्मी मेरा मंगल करें।
प्राप्तं पदं प्रथमतः खलु यत्प्रभावात् माङ्गल्यभाजि मधुमाथिनि मन्मथेन । मय्यापतेत्तदिह मन्थरमीक्षणार्धं मन्दालसं च मकरालयकन्यकायाः ॥ ७ ॥
Praptam padam prathamatah khalu yatprabhavat Mangalyabhaji madhumathini manmathena | Mayyapatettadiha mantharamikshanardham Mandalasam cha makaralayakanyakayah || 7 ||
Meaning:By the power of her glance, Manmatha (Kamadeva) first found a place in the auspicious heart of Vishnu, slayer of Madhu. May that slow, gentle, languid half-glance of the ocean's daughter fall on me here.
अर्थ:जिस दृष्टि के प्रभाव से कामदेव ने पहली बार मधु दैत्य को मारने वाले मंगलमय विष्णु में स्थान पाया, समुद्र की पुत्री लक्ष्मी की वह धीमी, कोमल, अलसाई आधी दृष्टि यहाँ मुझ पर पड़े।
दद्याद्दयानुपवनो द्रविणाम्बुधाराम् अस्मिन्नकिञ्चनविहङ्गशिशौ विषण्णे । दुष्कर्मघर्ममपनीय चिराय दूरं नारायणप्रणयिनीनयनाम्बुवाहः ॥ ८ ॥
Dadyaddayanupavano dravinambudharam Asminnakinchanavihangashishau vishanne | Dushkarmagharmamapaniya chiraya duram Narayanapranayininayanambuvahah || 8 ||
Meaning:The eyes of Narayana's beloved are like a rain cloud driven by the wind of compassion. May they pour a stream of wealth on me, a helpless and dejected fledgling, and drive the scorching heat of my past wrong deeds far away for a long time.
अर्थ:नारायण की प्रिया लक्ष्मी के नेत्र दया रूपी पवन से चलने वाले बादल जैसे हैं। वे मुझ निर्धन और उदास पक्षी के बच्चे पर धन की वर्षा करें और मेरे बुरे कर्मों की तपन को बहुत समय के लिए दूर कर दें।
इष्टाविशिष्टमतयोऽपि यया दयार्द्र- दृष्ट्या त्रिविष्टपपदं सुलभं लभन्ते । दृष्टिः प्रहृष्टकमलोदरदीप्तिरिष्टां पुष्टिं कृषीष्ट मम पुष्करविष्टरायाः ॥ ९ ॥
Ishtavishishtamatayopi yaya dayardra- Drishtya trivishtapapadam sulabham labhante | Drishtih prahrishtakamalodaradiptirishtam Pushtim krishishta mama pushkaravishtarayah || 9 ||
Meaning:The verse says that through her glance, moist with compassion, even people of ordinary understanding easily reach the state of heaven (trivishtapa). (Ishta-avishishta-matayah is also read as 'those dear to her, of excellent mind'.) May that glance of the lotus-seated goddess, bright as the heart of a blooming lotus, grant me the nourishment I long for.
अर्थ:श्लोक कहता है कि जिनकी करुणा से भीगी दृष्टि से साधारण बुद्धि वाले लोग भी स्वर्ग का पद सहज पा लेते हैं (कुछ लोग 'इष्टाविशिष्टमतयः' का अर्थ 'उनके प्रिय, श्रेष्ठ बुद्धि वाले' लेते हैं), कमल पर विराजने वाली लक्ष्मी की, खिले कमल के भीतरी भाग जैसी उजली वह दृष्टि मुझे मनचाही पुष्टि (पोषण) दे।
गीर्देवतेति गरुडध्वजसुन्दरीति शाकम्भरीति शशिशेखरवल्लभेति । सृष्टिस्थितिप्रलयकेलिषु संस्थितायै तस्यै नमस्त्रिभुवनैकगुरोस्तरुण्यै ॥ १० ॥
Girdevateti garudadhvajasundariti Shakambhariti shashishekharavallabheti | Srishtisthitipralayakelishu samsthitayai Tasyai namastribhuvanaikagurostarunyai || 10 ||
Meaning:Salutations to her, the young consort of the one teacher of the three worlds, who is known as the goddess of speech, as the beauty beside Garudadhvaja (Vishnu), as Shakambhari, and as the beloved of the moon-crowned Shiva, and who is present in the play of creation, preservation and dissolution.
अर्थ:उन्हें नमस्कार है, जो तीनों लोकों के एकमात्र गुरु की तरुण पत्नी हैं; जिन्हें वाणी की देवी, गरुड़ध्वज विष्णु की सुंदरी, शाकम्भरी और चंद्रशेखर शिव की प्रिया कहा जाता है; और जो सृष्टि, पालन और प्रलय की लीला में स्थित हैं।
श्रुत्यै नमोऽस्तु शुभकर्मफलप्रसूत्यै रत्यै नमोऽस्तु रमणीयगुणार्णवायै । शक्त्यै नमोऽस्तु शतपत्रनिकेतनायै पुष्ट्यै नमोऽस्तु पुरुषोत्तमवल्लभायै ॥ ११ ॥
Shrutyai namostu shubhakarmaphalaprasutyai Ratyai namostu ramaniyagunarnavayai | Shaktyai namostu shatapatraniketanayai Pushtyai namostu purushottamavallabhayai || 11 ||
Meaning:Salutations to her as Shruti (the Veda), who brings forth the fruits of good deeds; to her as Rati, an ocean of lovely qualities; to her as Shakti, who dwells in the hundred-petalled lotus; and to her as Pushti (nourishment), the beloved of Purushottama.
अर्थ:शुभ कर्मों का फल देने वाली श्रुति (वेद) रूपा को नमस्कार; सुंदर गुणों की सागर रति रूपा को नमस्कार; सौ पंखुड़ियों वाले कमल में रहने वाली शक्ति रूपा को नमस्कार; और पुरुषोत्तम की प्रिया पुष्टि रूपा को नमस्कार।
नमोऽस्तु नालीकनिभाननायै नमोऽस्तु दुग्धोदधिजन्मभूम्यै । नमोऽस्तु सोमामृतसोदरायै नमोऽस्तु नारायणवल्लभायै ॥ १२ ॥
Namostu nalikanibhananayai Namostu dugdhodadhijanmabhumyai | Namostu somamritasodarayai Namostu narayanavallabhayai || 12 ||
Meaning:Salutations to her whose face is like a lotus; to her whose birthplace is the ocean of milk; to her who is sister to the moon and to amrita, which rose from the same ocean; salutations to the beloved of Narayana.
अर्थ:कमल जैसे मुख वाली को नमस्कार; क्षीरसागर जिनकी जन्मभूमि है, उन्हें नमस्कार; चंद्रमा और अमृत की बहन को नमस्कार; नारायण की प्रिया को नमस्कार।
सम्पत्कराणि सकलेन्द्रियनन्दनानि साम्राज्यदानविभवानि सरोरुहाक्षि । त्वद्वन्दनानि दुरिताहरणोद्यतानि मामेव मातरनिशं कलयन्तु मान्ये ॥ १३ ॥
Sampatkarani sakalendriyanandanani Samrajyadanavibhavani saroruhakshi | Tvadvandanani duritaharanodyatani Mameva mataranisham kalayantu manye || 13 ||
Meaning:O lotus-eyed mother, worthy of honour: may my salutations to you, which the verse describes as bringing prosperity, delight all the senses, have the power to bestow sovereignty and are ready to take away wrongdoing, always be mine alone.
अर्थ:हे कमलनयनी, हे पूजनीय माता, आपको किए गए प्रणाम, जिन्हें श्लोक समृद्धि देने वाले, सब इंद्रियों को आनंद देने वाले, राज्य तक देने में समर्थ और पापों को हरने को तत्पर बताता है, सदा केवल मेरे ही हों।
यत्कटाक्षसमुपासनाविधिः सेवकस्य सकलार्थसम्पदः । सन्तनोति वचनाङ्गमानसैः त्वां मुरारिहृदयेश्वरीं भजे ॥ १४ ॥
Yatkatakshasamupasanavidhih Sevakasya sakalarthasampadah | Santanoti vachanangamanasaih Tvam Murarihridayeshvarim bhaje || 14 ||
Meaning:With my words, my body and my mind I worship you, queen of Murari's heart. The verse says that devoted worship of your sidelong glance brings every kind of wealth and good fortune to the one who serves you.
अर्थ:मैं वाणी, शरीर और मन से आपका भजन करता हूँ, हे मुरारी के हृदय की स्वामिनी। श्लोक कहता है कि आपकी कृपा दृष्टि की उपासना सेवक को हर प्रकार की सम्पदा देती है।
सरसिजनिलये सरोजहस्ते धवलतमांशुकगन्धमाल्यशोभे । भगवति हरिवल्लभे मनोज्ञे त्रिभुवनभूतिकरि प्रसीद मह्यम् ॥ १५ ॥
Sarasijanilaye sarojahaste Dhavalatamamshukagandhamalyashobhe | Bhagavati harivallabhe manogye Tribhuvanabhutikari prasida mahyam || 15 ||
Meaning:O goddess who lives in the lotus and holds a lotus in your hand, radiant in the whitest garments, sandal paste and garlands; O Bhagavati, beloved of Hari, lovely one, who brings prosperity to the three worlds, be gracious to me.
अर्थ:हे कमल में निवास करने वाली, हाथ में कमल लेने वाली, अत्यंत श्वेत वस्त्र, सुगंध और माला से शोभित देवी; हे भगवती, हे हरिप्रिया, हे मनोहर, तीनों लोकों को समृद्धि देने वाली, मुझ पर प्रसन्न हों।
दिग्घस्तिभिः कनककुम्भमुखावसृष्ट- स्वर्वाहिनीविमलचारुजलप्लुताङ्गीम् । प्रातर्नमामि जगतां जननीमशेष- लोकाधिनाथगृहिणीममृताब्धिपुत्रीम् ॥ १६ ॥
Digghastibhih kanakakumbhamukhavasrishta- Svarvahinivimalacharujalaplutangim | Pratarnamami jagatam jananimashesha- Lokadhinathagrihinimamritabdhiputrim || 16 ||
Meaning:Each morning I bow to the mother of the worlds, whose body is bathed by the elephants of the directions with the pure, lovely water of the heavenly Ganga poured from the mouths of golden pots; the wife of the lord of all worlds and the daughter of the ocean of nectar.
अर्थ:मैं प्रातःकाल जगत की उस माता को प्रणाम करता हूँ, जिनका शरीर दिशाओं के हाथी सोने के कलशों से गिरते आकाशगंगा के निर्मल, सुंदर जल से नहलाते हैं; जो समस्त लोकों के स्वामी की पत्नी और अमृत सागर की पुत्री हैं।
कमले कमलाक्षवल्लभे त्वं करुणापूरतरङ्गितैरपाङ्गैः । अवलोकय मामकिञ्चनानां प्रथमं पात्रमकृत्रिमं दयायाः ॥ १७ ॥
Kamale kamalakshavallabhe tvam Karunapuratarangitairapangaih | Avalokaya mamakinchananam Prathamam patramakritrimam dayayah || 17 ||
Meaning:O Kamala, beloved of the lotus-eyed Lord, look at me with sidelong glances rippling with a flood of compassion. Among those who have nothing, I am the first and truest one to receive your mercy.
अर्थ:हे कमला, हे कमलनयन भगवान की प्रिया, करुणा की बाढ़ से लहराती अपनी तिरछी दृष्टि से मुझे देखिए। निर्धनों में मैं आपकी दया का पहला और सच्चा पात्र हूँ।
स्तुवन्ति ये स्तुतिभिरमूभिरन्वहं त्रयीमयीं त्रिभुवनमातरं रमाम् । गुणाधिका गुरुतरभाग्यभागिनो भवन्ति ते भुवि बुधभाविताशयाः ॥ १८ ॥
Stuvanti ye stutibhiramubhiranvaham Trayimayim tribhuvanamataram Ramam | Gunadhika gurutarabhagyabhagino Bhavanti te bhuvi budhabhavitashayah || 18 ||
Meaning:The closing verse says that those who praise Rama (Lakshmi), the mother of the three worlds and the essence of the three Vedas, with these hymns every day, grow rich in good qualities, share in great good fortune, and are held in esteem by the wise.
अर्थ:अंतिम श्लोक कहता है कि जो लोग तीनों वेदों की स्वरूपा, तीनों लोकों की माता रमा (लक्ष्मी) की इन स्तुतियों से प्रतिदिन स्तुति करते हैं, वे संसार में गुणों से भरपूर, बड़े सौभाग्य के भागी और विद्वानों द्वारा सम्मानित होते हैं।
