About Shri Ramchandra Kripalu Bhaju Man

स्तोत्र के बारे में

Tulsidas's famous hymn to Shri Ram, written in Sanskrit-rich Awadhi. It asks the mind to worship Ram, describes his lotus-like eyes, his cloud-dark beauty and his victory over Khara and Dushana, and ends with Tulsidas praying that Ram make his home in his heart.

श्रीराम की यह प्रसिद्ध स्तुति गोस्वामी तुलसीदास ने संस्कृतनिष्ठ अवधी में लिखी। इसमें मन को श्रीराम का भजन करने को कहा गया है, उनके कमल जैसे नेत्रों, मेघ जैसी साँवली शोभा और खर-दूषण पर विजय का वर्णन है, और अंत में तुलसीदास प्रार्थना करते हैं कि श्रीराम उनके हृदय में निवास करें।

When to recite · कब पढ़ें

It is sung as an aarti and stuti in the daily worship of Shri Ram, during Ramayan path, and especially on Ram Navami.

यह श्रीराम की दैनिक पूजा में आरती और स्तुति के रूप में, रामायण पाठ के समय, और विशेषकर रामनवमी पर गाई जाती है।

How to recite · कैसे पढ़ें

Sing the five stanzas in order, slowly enough to keep the long compound words clear. Many people sing it while waving the aarti lamp before Shri Ram.

पाँचों पद क्रम से, इतने धीरे गाएँ कि लंबे समस्त पद स्पष्ट रहें। बहुत से लोग इसे श्रीराम के सामने आरती का दीपक घुमाते हुए गाते हैं।

Questions people ask

अक्सर पूछे जाने वाले प्रश्न

Who wrote Shri Ramchandra Kripalu Bhaju Man?श्रीरामचंद्र कृपालु भजु मन किसने लिखा?

Goswami Tulsidas, the 16th-century poet-saint who also wrote the Ramcharitmanas. It is pad (hymn) 45 of his Vinay Patrika.

गोस्वामी तुलसीदास ने, जो 16वीं शताब्दी के संत-कवि थे और जिन्होंने रामचरितमानस भी लिखा। यह उनकी विनय पत्रिका का 45वाँ पद है।

Is it 'Bhaju Man' or 'Bhajman'?'भजु मन' सही है या 'भजमन'?

Both mean the same thing: 'O mind, worship'. The Gita Press Vinay Patrika prints 'bhaju man', which we follow; many singers run the two words together as 'bhajman'.

दोनों का अर्थ एक ही है: 'हे मन, भजन कर'। गीता प्रेस की विनय पत्रिका में 'भजु मन' छपा है, जिसे हमने लिया है। बहुत से गायक दोनों शब्दों को मिलाकर 'भजमन' गाते हैं।

Why do some recordings continue with 'Manu jahin racheu milihi so baru'?कुछ रिकॉर्डिंग में आगे 'मनु जाहिं राचेउ मिलिहि सो बरु' क्यों गाया जाता है?

Many singers add a chhand and soratha from the Bal Kand of Tulsidas's Ramcharitmanas, where Goddess Gauri blesses Sita. Those lines come from a different work, so they are not part of the five stanzas of this Vinay Patrika hymn given here.

बहुत से गायक तुलसीदास के रामचरितमानस के बालकांड से एक छंद और सोरठा जोड़ते हैं, जहाँ माता गौरी सीता जी को आशीर्वाद देती हैं। वे पंक्तियाँ दूसरी रचना से हैं, इसलिए यहाँ दिए विनय पत्रिका के पाँच पदों में शामिल नहीं हैं।

What does 'Kandarp aganit amit chhabi' mean?'कंदर्प अगणित अमित छबि' का अर्थ क्या है?

Kandarp is Kamadeva, the god of love and beauty. The line says Ram's beauty is beyond that of countless Kamadevas put together.

कंदर्प का अर्थ है कामदेव, जो प्रेम और सौंदर्य के देवता हैं। पंक्ति का अर्थ है कि श्रीराम की शोभा अनगिनत कामदेवों से भी बढ़कर है।

We checked every line of this stotram against these sources before publishing it (checked on 16 Sept 2026). The meanings are written by us.

Which version we use

The text is given exactly as printed in Gita Press Aarti Sangrah (GP-AS), checked half-line by half-line against Gita Press Vinay Patrika pad 45 (GP-VP), Sanskrit Documents (SD), Webdunia (WD) and Hindi Wikipedia (WP). GP-AS and GP-VP agree on every word; they differ only in spelling: GP-VP ends the half-lines in -ं (दारुणं) where GP-AS writes -म् (दारुणम्), and GP-VP has छवि, आनंदकंद, उदारू and चारू where GP-AS has छबि, आनँदकंद, उदार and चारु. We follow GP-AS throughout rather than mixing the two. Other readings not followed: 'भजमन' (WD, WP) for 'भजु मन'; 'नीरज' (lotus: SD, WD) for 'नीरद' (cloud); SD's 'पानहुँ', 'सिरक्रीट', 'सर चाप' and 'मञ्जनम्'; WD's 'कौशल चंद'. Not included: the Ramcharitmanas chhand and soratha ('मनु जाहिं राचेउ...', 'जानि गौरि अनुकूल...') that SD and WD append; they belong to Bal Kand of the Ramcharitmanas, not to this pad.
