Karmanye vadhikaraste ma phaleshu kadachana | Ma karmaphalaheturbhurma te sangostvakarmani || 47 ||

Meaning:You have a right to your action alone, never to its fruits. Do not let the fruit of action be the reason you act, and do not let yourself become attached to not acting either. (Karma: action or duty. Phala: fruit, result. Akarma: inaction.)

अर्थ:तुम्हारा अधिकार केवल कर्म करने में है, उसके फल में कभी नहीं। कर्म के फल को अपने कर्म का कारण मत बनाओ, और कर्म न करने में भी तुम्हारी आसक्ति न हो।

The best-known verse of the Bhagavad Gita. Krishna tells Arjuna that his right is to his work alone, not to its results, and that he should neither make the result his motive nor slip into doing nothing.

यह भगवद्गीता का सबसे प्रसिद्ध श्लोक है। श्रीकृष्ण अर्जुन से कहते हैं कि तुम्हारा अधिकार केवल कर्म पर है, उसके फल पर नहीं। फल को कर्म का कारण मत बनाओ और कर्म छोड़ देने में भी आसक्ति मत रखो।

There is no fixed time for this verse. Many people read it in the morning, before study or work, and it is recited during Gita path and on Gita Jayanti.

इस श्लोक के लिए कोई निश्चित समय नहीं है। बहुत से लोग इसे सुबह, पढ़ाई या काम शुरू करने से पहले पढ़ते हैं। गीता पाठ और गीता जयंती पर भी इसका पाठ होता है।

Krishna said it to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, when Arjuna did not want to fight. The dialogue is recorded in the Bhagavad Gita, which is part of the Mahabharata.

यह श्रीकृष्ण ने कुरुक्षेत्र के युद्धक्षेत्र में अर्जुन से कहा, जब अर्जुन युद्ध नहीं करना चाहते थे। यह संवाद भगवद्गीता में है, जो महाभारत का भाग है।

Does this verse say we should not care about results?क्या यह श्लोक कहता है कि परिणाम की परवाह नहीं करनी चाहिए?

It asks us not to make the result our motive and not to be attached to it. The same verse also warns against giving up work, so it is a call to act fully without being ruled by the outcome, not a call to stop caring.

यह श्लोक कहता है कि फल को कर्म का कारण मत बनाओ और उसमें आसक्त मत हो। इसी श्लोक में कर्म छोड़ने से भी मना किया गया है। इसलिए इसका भाव है कि पूरे मन से कर्म करो, पर परिणाम के वश में मत रहो।
