What a Hanuman Pooja is
An hour. The pandit speaks your sankalp, reads the Sundarkand, offers sindoor and chameli oil, a jasmine garland and laddoo. Prasad is offered in your name. Tuesday and Saturday are the days it is performed, and the Sundarkand alone takes most of the hour.

Why Hanuman ji
Hanuman ji is Sankat Mochan, the one called in trouble. He is the deity of courage and of protection from fear and from buri nazar, and he is also the remedy tradition gives for a difficult Mangal or Shani.
हनुमान जी संकट मोचन हैं — संकट में जिन्हें पुकारा जाता है। वे साहस के देवता हैं, भय और बुरी नज़र से रक्षा करते हैं, और परंपरा उन्हें कठिन मंगल या शनि का उपाय भी बताती है।

When it is done
Tuesday and Saturday are Hanuman ji's days. Hanuman Jayanti and the Saturdays of a Shani period are asked for most. You choose the date when you book, and the archana is performed on that date.

You can add your family
One Sankalp holds up to 10 names. Each person gets their own archana, with their own gotra, nakshatra and manokamna, and you mark the relation — mother, father, spouse, son, daughter, brother or anyone else. The pandit speaks each sankalp by name.
What this is not
An Archana is not a separate pooja or hawan held for you at the temple. Archana performs the ritual and sends you the proof. It does not read your chart, and it promises no outcome.
