Mandir hazaaron saal purana hai; kaha jaata hai Aadi Shankaracharya ne 8vi shatabdi mein iska punruddhar kiya. Mandir sirf April/May se November tak khula rehta hai. Archana ke through aap ghar baithe Badrinath mandir mein archana karwa sakte hain. Mandir ka pandit aapka naam, gotra aur nakshatra lekar Badrinarayan ke samne aapka sankalp aur manokamna bolta hai, aur aapke naam se phool aur prasad arpit karta hai.
