Durga Saptashati, also known as Devi Mahatmyam or Chandi Path, consists of 700 verses from the Markandeya Purana. These verses describe the battles of Goddess Durga against the demons Madhu-Kaitabh, Mahishasura, and Shumbha-Nishumbha — symbolizing the triumph of divine feminine energy over evil. The path is divided into 13 chapters across three sections (charitas), each invoking a different aspect of the Goddess: Maha Kali, Maha Lakshmi, and Maha Saraswati.
दुर्गा सप्तशती, जिसे देवी माहात्म्यम् या चंडी पाठ भी कहा जाता है, मार्कंडेय पुराण के 700 श्लोकों से बनी है। ये श्लोक देवी दुर्गा की मधु-कैटभ, महिषासुर और शुंभ-निशुंभ के विरुद्ध लड़ाइयों का वर्णन करते हैं।
