Meaning:Glory to Santoshi Mata; O Mother, glory to Santoshi Mata. You are the giver of happiness and wealth to those who serve you.
अर्थ:संतोषी माता की जय हो; मैया, संतोषी माता की जय हो। आप अपने सेवकों को सुख और संपत्ति देने वाली हैं।
सुन्दर चीर सुनहरी, माँ धारण कीन्हो । हीरा पन्ना दमके, तन श्रृंगार लीन्हो ॥
Sundar chir sunahri, Maa dharan kinho | Heera panna damke, tan shringar linho ||
Meaning:Mother, you wear a beautiful golden sari (chir). Diamonds and emeralds sparkle as the adornment of your body.
अर्थ:माँ, आपने सुंदर सुनहरी साड़ी धारण की है। हीरे और पन्ने चमक रहे हैं, जिनसे आपका शरीर सजा है।
गेरू लाल छटा छवि, बदन कमल सोहे । मंद हँसत करुणामयी, त्रिभुवन जन मोहे ॥
Geru lal chhata chhavi, badan kamal sohe | Mand hansat karunamayi, tribhuvan jan mohe ||
Meaning:Your form glows with the red of geru (red ochre), and your face is lovely as a lotus. Smiling gently, full of compassion, you enchant the people of the three worlds.
अर्थ:आपके रूप में गेरू जैसी लाल आभा है और आपका मुख कमल जैसा सुंदर है। करुणा से भरी आपकी मंद मुस्कान तीनों लोकों के लोगों को मोह लेती है।
स्वर्ण सिंहासन बैठी, चँवर ढुरे प्यारे । धूप, दीप, मधुमेवा, भोग धरें न्यारे ॥
Swarn singhasan baithi, chanvar dhure pyare | Dhoop, deep, madhumeva, bhog dharen nyare ||
Meaning:You sit on a golden throne while a lovely chamar (ceremonial whisk) is waved for you. Incense, lamps, honey and dry fruits and special food offerings (bhog) are placed before you.
अर्थ:आप सोने के सिंहासन पर बैठी हैं और आप पर सुंदर चँवर डुलाया जाता है। आपके सामने धूप, दीप, मधु, मेवे और तरह-तरह के भोग रखे जाते हैं।
गुड़ अरु चना परमप्रिय, तामे संतोष कियो । संतोषी कहलाई, भक्तन वैभव दियो ॥
Gud aru chana parampriya, taame santosh kiyo | Santoshi kahlai, bhaktan vaibhav diyo ||
Meaning:Jaggery and chana are dearest to you, and you were content (santosh) with them; so you came to be called Santoshi. You gave abundance to your devotees.
अर्थ:गुड़ और चना आपको परम प्रिय हैं और आपने उन्हीं में संतोष किया; इसीलिए आप संतोषी कहलाईं। आपने अपने भक्तों को वैभव दिया।
शुक्रवार प्रिय मानत, आज दिवस सोही । भक्त मण्डली छाई, कथा सुनत मोही ॥
Shukravar priya manat, aaj divas sohi | Bhakt mandali chhai, katha sunat mohi ||
Meaning:You hold Friday dear, and today is that very day. The gathering of devotees has assembled and listens, absorbed, to your katha.
अर्थ:आप शुक्रवार को प्रिय मानती हैं, और आज वही दिन है। भक्तों की मंडली जुटी है और मगन होकर आपकी कथा सुन रही है।
मंदिर जगमग ज्योति, मंगल ध्वनि छाई । विनय करें हम बालक, चरनन सिर नाई ॥
Mandir jagmag jyoti, mangal dhvani chhai | Vinay karen hum balak, charnan sir nai ||
Meaning:The temple glows with lamps and auspicious sounds fill the air. We, your children, bow our heads at your feet and pray.
अर्थ:मंदिर दीपों से जगमगा रहा है और मंगल ध्वनि गूँज रही है। हम आपके बालक आपके चरणों में सिर झुकाकर विनती करते हैं।
भक्ति भावमय पूजा, अंगीकृत कीजै । जो मन बसे हमारे, इच्छा फल दीजै ॥
Bhakti bhavmay puja, angikrit kijai | Jo man base hamare, ichchha phal dijai ||
Meaning:Please accept our worship, offered with devotion. Grant the wish that lives in our hearts.
अर्थ:भक्ति भाव से की गई हमारी पूजा स्वीकार कीजिए। हमारे मन में जो इच्छा बसी है, उसका फल दीजिए।
दुखी, दरिद्री, रोगी, संकटमुक्त किए । बहु धन-धान्य भरे घर, सुख सौभाग्य दिए ॥
Dukhi, daridri, rogi, sankatmukt kiye | Bahu dhan-dhanya bhare ghar, sukh saubhagya diye ||
Meaning:In the aarti's words, you have freed the sorrowful, the poor and the sick from their troubles, filled homes with wealth and grain, and given happiness and good fortune. This is the devotee's praise of the Mother's grace, not a promise of any result.
अर्थ:आरती के शब्दों में, आपने दुखियों, दरिद्रों और रोगियों को संकट से मुक्त किया, घरों को धन-धान्य से भरा और सुख-सौभाग्य दिया। यह माता की कृपा की भक्त द्वारा की गई स्तुति है, किसी परिणाम का वादा नहीं।
ध्यान धर्यो जिस जन ने, मनवांछित फल पायो । पूजा कथा श्रवण कर, घर आनंद आयो ॥
Dhyan dharyo jis jan ne, manvanchhit phal payo | Puja katha shravan kar, ghar anand aayo ||
Meaning:As the aarti tells it, whoever meditated on you received the fruit they wished for, and by doing your puja and hearing your katha, joy came into their home.
अर्थ:आरती के अनुसार, जिसने आपका ध्यान किया उसने मनचाहा फल पाया, और आपकी पूजा करके तथा कथा सुनकर उसके घर आनंद आया।
शरण गहे की लज्जा, राखियो जगदंबे । संकट तू ही निवारे, दयामयी अम्बे ॥
Sharan gahe ki lajja, rakhiyo Jagdambe | Sankat tu hi nivare, dayamayi Ambe ||
Meaning:O Jagdambe, Mother of the world, keep the honour of those who have taken refuge in you. You alone remove troubles, O merciful Ambe.
अर्थ:हे जगदंबे, जिसने आपकी शरण ली है उसकी लाज रखिए। हे दयामयी अंबे, संकट आप ही दूर करती हैं।
संतोषी माँ की आरती, जो कोई नर गावे । ऋद्धि-सिद्धि सुख-सम्पत्ति, जी भरकर पावे ॥
Santoshi Maa ki aarti, jo koi nar gave | Riddhi-siddhi sukh sampatti, ji bharkar pave ||
Meaning:The closing verse says that whoever sings this aarti of Santoshi Maa receives riddhi-siddhi (prosperity and spiritual accomplishment), happiness and wealth to the heart's content. This is the aarti's traditional statement of merit.
