What a Ketu Archana is
The pandit speaks your sankalp before Ketu and chants the Ketu mantra 108 times. A grey or multi-coloured flower, kulthi, sesame and a flag cloth are offered. Prasad is offered in your name. Thirty minutes, performed at the Nav Grah sthan where all nine grahas are installed, because Ketu has no murti of its own.

Why Ketu
Ketu is the other shadow, the tail, read as detachment, as the loss of what was held, and as moksha. Its archana is booked during Ketu Mahadasha, for pitru-related readings, and when an astrologer has named Kaal Sarp or Rahu-Ketu dosh.

Saturday and Tuesday are the days given for Ketu. Amavasya is asked for in pitru-related readings. You choose the date when you book, and the archana is performed on that date.

You can add your family
One Sankalp holds up to 10 names. Each person gets their own archana, with their own gotra, nakshatra and manokamna, and you mark the relation — mother, father, spouse, son, daughter, brother or anyone else. The pandit speaks each sankalp by name.
What this is not
An Archana is not a separate pooja or hawan held for you at the temple. Archana performs the ritual and sends you the proof. It does not read your chart, and it promises no outcome.
